The Chariot – September 2025 Edition

This issue of The Chariot celebrates milestones both personal and collective, led by Ardie Savea’s remarkable 100th test for the All Blacks — making Rongotai one of just three New Zealand schools to produce multiple All Black centurions. Readers are reintroduced to the College’s first and often-forgotten All Black, Ron Horsley, and inspired by the stories of Kenape Saupese, whose journey from reggae frontman to literacy advocate has changed young lives, and Wayne Moore, who marked 30 years competing at the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race. The edition also revisits the life of legendary teacher ‘Bonk’ Scotney, honours the Old Boys who have recently passed, and brings fresh updates from the College and the fast-approaching 2028 Centenary. A moving reflection on community, achievement, and continuity, this issue reminds us that the spirit of Rongotai endures across generations.
